Northern Line alumni Hannabiel and the Midnight Blue

Would you like to play a leading part in the Northern Jazz Scene?

Jazz North is putting the call out for a new Trustee.

Jazz North is the Strategic Development Agency for jazz in the North of England. Supported since its inception in 2012 by Arts Council England, Jazz North has a national and international reputation in Artist Development, Sector Support and Learning & Participation. A registered charity that has developed and supported hundreds of artists, managers, venues, festivals and promoters over the years - Jazz North has a proud record of working with and on behalf of the northern jazz scene.

“We are fortunate to have an incredibly engaged, passionate Board of Trustees and the team is looking forward to welcoming a new member. It’s an exciting time to join Jazz North as we deliver sector-leading programmes such as Northern Line and the award-winning Jazz Camp for Girls. Whatever your background and whatever your story, we would love to hear from you”  Chris Bye, CEO Jazz North

Trustees serve for three years, renewable for an additional three years. The position is not remunerated but reasonable travel expenses can be paid. It is usual for meetings to be held via video conference. We appreciate the value of your time and the only requirement is genuine engagement with our quarterly Board meetings, as well any potential sub-committee meetings.

The recruitment process is open to everyone and we want our Board to actively reflect the communities we support and their lived experience. We encourage applications from under-represented groups including Black, Asian and ethnically diverse people; women; the LGBTQ+ community; and those who consider themselves to be deaf, disabled and neurodiverse.

We are also especially interested in hearing from those with financial and fundraising experience. But it should be stressed that all are welcome. Whether you’re an experienced Trustee or wanting to take your first step at Board level we want to hear from you.
