A statement from Jazz North

Community Through Sound

Jazz North is appalled by the racially motivated acts of violence within our communities, including attacks on emergency services and local organisations dedicated to supporting those affected.

We praise those people who step forward to clean up the villages, towns and cities affected and who stand up for peace and compassion. Our thoughts and solidarity are with our Black and Muslim communities, and people who feel threatened across the country.

For anyone feeling unsafe, isolated or unsupported, several resources and helplines are available. If you are a northern artist, promoter or partner and you would like to talk in confidence with someone from the Jazz North team about these, please get in touch with us via our contact form and we will respond as soon as we can. There are also various organisations providing relevant support, including but not limited to our partners at Black Lives in Music
