5 Top Tips for applying to New Northern

5 days remain for you to apply to New Northern. New Northern offers small bursaries up to £1000 to jazz promoters living and working in the north of England to further support their work in programming emerging jazz artists from the north.

This scheme is to support those working at grassroots level - by this we mean venues and promoters not in receipt of regular funding (e.g. NPO or local authority grants) above £5000 a year. Promoters receiving project funding (e.g. NLPG or DYCP) are still eligible to apply.

The bursaries can be spent on programming and associated costs to help promoters develop emerging jazz artists as part of their ongoing programme.

Here are our 5 Top Tips for applying to New Northern:

  1. Use New Northern to try out something different

  2. Take a risk with something that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to do

  3. Think about what it means to you to present a diverse programme

  4. Think about artists you can then develop a longer term relationship with

  5. Think how New Northern can help support the sustainability of your programme
